The Sunncamp Icon Air is a full caravan awning that you inflate rather than pole up. It's 325cm deep, so you get a large living space for your touring holidays, and it comes with a free electric pump. It uses Air Volution single-point inflation and tough 300D PRO-TEK fabric. Choose from sizes 13 to 18, for A-measurements from 950cm to 1100cm.
Why we recommend the Sunncamp Icon Air awning
“If you want the space of a full awning without wrestling with poles, this is the one I'd point you to. It's 325cm deep, with room for chairs, a table and your gear, and the free electric pump saves a lot of effort.”
Phil McEleney, founder of CamperNation
One pump connection inflates the whole structure, so there are no poles to assemble. It is a touring awning, though. Sunncamp doesn't recommend it for permanent use or permanent-style pitches. If you're after an awning for a seasonal pitch, I'd look at the Atlantis DL or the Buckingham DL instead.
Sizing a full awning is the part most people worry about. Send me your caravan's make, model and year, or your A-measurement, and I'll confirm the right size. If it isn't the right fit, our Perfect Fit Promise gives you 100 days to send it back for an exchange or refund.

Sunncamp Icon Air awning: what you'll love about it
Air Volution single-point inflation
The Sunncamp Air Volution system inflates the whole awning from one connection point. There are no poles to sort and no tubes to pump up one by one. A free electric pump is included, and a manual pump comes in the box too.
325cm of depth for real living space
The Icon Air is 325cm deep. That gives you a sheltered living area that effectively doubles your caravan's footprint. It's deeper than the Buckingham DL at 300cm, with space for seating and dining.
Tough 300D PRO-TEK fabric
The awning is made from 300D PRO-TEK fabric. Sunncamp says it has four times the tensile strength of standard materials. The roof uses an enhanced 300D fabric that is waterproof and fire retardant. The fabric is rated to a 6,000mm hydrostatic head, so it keeps the rain out.
Bright inside, private when you need it
Large, crystal-clear windows fill the inside with light. Multi-zip curtains on every window give you privacy and shade whenever you want them.

Panels and ventilation that adapt to the weather
Every panel can be used veranda-style, zipped out, or swapped for the zip-in mesh panels that come with the awning. Both side doors also have a secondary mesh. That lets the air through and keeps insects out. The mesh panels swap in for a full panel, rather than being built into every panel. Size 13 has four panels, with two on the front. Sizes 14 to 18 have five panels, with three on the front.
Built for wind and rain
Vertical storm pole pockets, pre-attached storm buckles and reflective webbing straps help you secure the awning in poorer weather. An external peggable mud wall adds protection at ground level. The draught skirt has ventilation panels, so the air keeps moving.
Ready for lighting
There are LED light pockets on all the roof bars. They are made for Sunncamp's optional LED lighting system, so you get a neat finish with no loose wires.
Room to grow with an annexe
Sunncamp's optional Air Annexe fits on either side of the awning. It gives you extra storage or sleeping space, and it includes a twilight inner tent.
Made for touring, not permanent pitches
Sunncamp designed the Icon Air as a full touring awning. They don't recommend it for permanent use, or for permanent-style pitches. Rubbing and contact with the ground can damage the base materials. If you'll leave your awning up for weeks at a time, ask us about our seasonal awnings.
What our customers say
Key points from a recent customer survey:
- Happy overall. An owner who uses their Icon Air 4 to 5 times a year scored it 10 out of 10.
- What they like most. The size, the quality and how sturdy it feels. They also found the single-point inflation very easy.
- Better build than before. Most rated the quality as noticeably better than the awning they had previously.
- Use an electric pump. They see an electric pump as essential, and said inflating by hand would be a real struggle. That's why we include one free.
- It's heavy. Feeding it through the caravan awning rail on your own is hard work. They solved it with a low-cost awning puller, and a second pair of hands helps too.
- Mesh panels. They would prefer fly screens built into the doors and windows. The zip-in mesh needs a full panel swapped out, so theirs mostly stays in storage.

Sunncamp Icon Air vs Camptech Atlantis DL vs Camptech Buckingham DL
Not sure whether an air awning or a poled awning suits you? The biggest differences are the frame and how you plan to use it. The Buckingham DL is the deepest of our poled seasonal awnings at 300cm.

Sunncamp Icon Air awning instructions
Want to know what setup involves before you buy? In outline, you thread the awning bead through your caravan's awning rail, peg the awning out, then inflate it through the single inflation point. The free electric pump does the hard work. The awning is heavy, so a second person makes it much easier to feed through the rail, especially on the larger sizes.

Sunncamp Icon Air awning FAQs
How deep is the Sunncamp Icon Air awning?
It's 325cm deep. That's 85cm more floor space than a 240cm awning such as the Atlantis DL.
What size Sunncamp Icon Air awning do I need?
It depends on your caravan's A-measurement. The Icon Air comes in sizes 13 to 18, covering 950cm to 1100cm. Send us your measurement and we'll recommend the right size. If it doesn't fit, our Perfect Fit Promise has you covered.
How much does the Sunncamp Icon Air awning cost?
Prices start from £1,415 for size 13 and go up to £1,620 for size 18. Every size comes with a free electric pump, free UK delivery and 100-day returns. The size selector on this page always shows today's price.
Does the Icon Air come with an electric pump?
Yes. We include an electric pump free with every Icon Air, and a manual pump also comes in the box. Owners tell us an electric pump is well worth having, because inflating by hand is hard work on an awning this size.
How do you inflate the Sunncamp Icon Air awning?
It uses Air Volution single-point inflation, so one connection inflates the whole awning. Connect the free electric pump and it does the work for you.
Can I put the Icon Air up on my own?
It's possible, but we'd recommend two people. The awning is heavy, and feeding it through the caravan's awning rail alone is the hardest part. One owner used a low-cost awning puller to make this easier.
How do I get airflow without losing shelter?
Both side doors have a secondary mesh. You can also swap any panel for a zip-in mesh panel, zip panels out, or use them veranda-style. The draught skirt has ventilation panels too.
Can I leave the Icon Air up all season?
We don't recommend it. Sunncamp designed the Icon Air as a touring awning and advises against permanent use or siting it on permanent-style pitches. If you want an awning for a seasonal pitch, take a look at our seasonal awnings.
Is the Icon Air waterproof?
Yes. The awning uses 300D PRO-TEK fabric with a 6,000mm hydrostatic head, and the roof fabric is waterproof and fire retardant.
Does the Icon Air come with a carpet?
No. An awning carpet is an optional extra for the Icon Air. Ask us what's available for your size.
Can I add extra sleeping space?
Yes. Sunncamp's optional Air Annexe fits on either side of the awning, and it includes a twilight inner tent.
How does the Icon Air compare with a poled awning?
The Icon Air is deeper (325cm) and goes up with a pump rather than a frame. The Atlantis DL and Buckingham DL are poled and are better suited to seasonal pitches. The comparison table above shows all three side by side.
Does it come with everything I need?
Mostly. The list above is what's in the box, including the free electric pump, the manual pump, pegs for the main pegging points and the carry bag. A veranda pole, roof lining, carpet, wheel arch cover and LED lighting are optional extras, so ask us what's available.
Does the Sunncamp Icon Air have a warranty?
Yes. Every new Icon Air comes with a 12-month warranty.
